While I can see the author's point, and even agree to a certain extent, I woud be reluctant to agree that U.S. and Canadian law schools have an equal need to include practicum experiences. In the U.S., law school graduates write a state bar exam and go straight into practice as full-fledged lawyers. In Canada, we have a full year of articling under an experienced lawyer as well as a bar admission course before becoming lawyers.
