Hi,
I think at this technology age where most employees have computer skills and knowledge they should take some responsibility and act to it. I don't think anybody but the employee should take the cost/trouble to protect the information which they should not be there at the first place.
Employee miss used the furniture/application and that is the risk he or she has took.
