Out for a stroll

|Written By Gail J. Cohen

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada Beverley McLachlin shares a laugh with Arthur Milnes, commissioner of the non-partisan, non-profit Sir John A. Macdonald Bicentennial Commission on Sept. 27 in Kingston, Ont. McLachlin led about 75 Queen’s University law students, as well as local high school law students, on a 90-minute walking tour of Sir John A. Macdonald’s Kingston as part of events leading up to the 200th anniversary of the first prime minister’s birth in 2015. Other distinguished Canadians who have led these special walks in Kingston include former prime ministers Paul Martin and John Turner, Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty, former MP and Ontario premier Bob Rae, Senator Linda Frum, and others.
