On May 4, 2026, PolyExpert Inc. and Polykar Industries Inc. announced the completion of a merger of equals to form Invera Flexibles, a North American flexible packaging platform with more than $200 million in combined sales and 350 employees across three production facilities in Montreal, Laval and Edmonton. The combined business brings together decades of expertise in the research, development and production of specialty polyethylene films, bags and liners, and is positioned across five flexible packaging segments, including converter films, industrial and food-grade packaging, agricultural films and compostable solutions. Invera Flexibles is backed by Kent Road Capital as the majority investor, alongside MontClerc Capital, President and Chief Executive Officer Amir Karim, and employee shareholders. Amir Karim, previously President and Chief Executive Officer of Polykar, leads the combined company as Chief Executive Officer. As part of the transaction, Invera Flexibles is committing up to $20 million of capital to expand and modernize production capacity at its Edmonton and Laval facilities, with planned annual production capacity exceeding 150 million pounds upon completion. The PolyExpert and Polykar brands will continue as distinct product lines within Invera Flexibles, preserving their market recognition while benefiting from the scale and capabilities of the combined platform. The merger creates a coast-to-coast Canadian flexible packaging leader serving customers across North America, combining the operational footprints and customer relationships of two long-established Canadian specialty polyethylene film manufacturers under a single high-performing organization.
