Torys goes west

Torys LLP annouced today it is opening an office in Calgary, in large part to service clients in the energy sector.

“The pace of economic growth in Calgary and its strength in the energy sector have earned the city a reputation as an internationally recognized financial and business hub,” says managing partner Les Viner.

There will be seven partners starting up the Calgary outpost including Tony Cioni, who was previously in-house counsel at Husky Energy; Scott R. Cochlan, who’s practice focuses on corporate finance and M&A; Ron Deyholos, who’s practice focuses on corporate, infrastructure, and energy law; Kevin A. Fougere, who works on debt finance and lending transactions; Harold Huber, who practises corporate law, advising on reorganizations, privatizations, financings, M&A, joint ventures and partnerships; Neville Jugnauth, who is focused M&A and financing transactions; and corporate and securities lawyer Janan Paskaran.
