Recently appointed partner and lead of the litigation and dispute resolution group at Dentons in Vancouver, David Wotherspoon has more than 25 years of experience in corporate and commercial disputes. He focuses on crisis management, anti-counterfeiting, social media, intellectual property, technology and defamation. Wotherspoon has represented large clients such as Telus, Hermès, Nintendo and Canadian Pacific Railway, as well as individuals. He also engages in many pro bono cases to defend those who have limited access to the justice system. Wotherspoon volunteers at the Pivot Legal Society, a group that uses litigation, public education and advocacy campaigns to effect policy change in police accountability, health and drug policy, homelessness and sex workers’ rights. As part of his work with Pivot in 2017, Wotherspoon was part of a team that saved residents of Anita Place, a homeless camp in Maple Ridge, B.C., from eviction.
