Packaging giants Amcor, Berry Global to merge in $8.4 billion deal

Amcor plc announced a definitive agreement to acquire Berry Global Group, Inc. in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.4 billion. 

Berry shareholders will receive 7.25 Amcor shares for each Berry share held, resulting in Amcor shareholders owning about 63 percent and Berry shareholders owning approximately 37 percent of the combined company.

Amcor's CEO, Peter Konieczny, will lead the merged entity.

The deal is expected to close by mid-2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
