Arctic Wolf to acquire BlackBerry’s Cylance endpoint security assets for US$160 million

On December 16, 2024, Arctic Wolf announced its acquisition of BlackBerry’s Cylance endpoint security assets for US$160 million USD (equivalent to approximately $228 million CAD).

The deal included $80 million USD (about $114 million CAD) in cash at closing, $40 million USD (around $57 million CAD) payable a year later, and 5.5 million Arctic Wolf shares. The transaction is expected to close in BlackBerry’s fourth fiscal quarter. This acquisition integrated Cylance’s AI-driven endpoint protection into Arctic Wolf’s Aurora platform, enhancing its security operations offerings. BlackBerry retained its Secure Communications businesses and benefited as a reseller and shareholder.

Perella Weinberg Partners LP advised BlackBerry, with Morrison Foerster LLP as legal counsel. Cooley LLP served as Arctic Wolf’s legal advisor.
