Whitewater Management acquires Orion Water Solutions to expand North American footprint

On May 7, 2025, Whitewater Management, a Calgary-based fluid management company owned by Canada's Hillcore Group, announced its acquisition of Orion Water Solutions, a Texas-based leader in advanced wastewater treatment technologies. The acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, aims to enhance Whitewater's service offerings across sectors such as oil & gas, mining, and municipal infrastructure by integrating Orion's proprietary Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), Chlorine Dioxide, and biological treatment systems.

Founded in 2016, Orion Water Solutions specializes in transforming wastewater into reusable water through scalable mobile and fixed facility treatment units. With a strong presence in the Permian Basin and Gulf Coast industrial and municipal markets, Orion's expertise complements Whitewater's existing capabilities. The acquisition also supports the growth of Catalyst Production Services, Whitewater's production chemical division.

Rod Stearn, CEO of Whitewater, emphasized that the acquisition is a strategic extension of the company's commitment to high-quality fluid management solutions. Gary Griesenbeck, CEO of Orion, highlighted the cultural fit and the opportunity to deliver innovative, scalable solutions to a broader range of industries. Sparkstone Capital Advisors, LLC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Orion Water Solutions in connection with this transaction.
