On March 26, 2026, Motorola Solutions Canada Networks Inc., a Canadian subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, Inc., entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the land mobile radio networks services business of Bell Mobility, the wireless subsidiary of Bell Canada and BCE Inc., for a purchase price of $675 million, subject to customary adjustments plus a deferred net working capital settlement. The divestiture forms part of BCE's previously announced strategy to sell approximately seven billion dollars in non-core assets to reduce indebtedness, and focuses on a legacy operation that generates stable but lower-growth revenue without affecting Bell's core customer relationships. Land mobile radio is a push-to-talk, two-way radio voice communication system used by Canadian public safety agencies, including law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services, as well as commercial users requiring secure, resilient, and highly reliable mission-critical communications. Bell and Motorola Solutions Canada have jointly delivered these services to Canadian customers for more than three decades, and Bell will continue as an important service delivery partner for the networks post-closing. Michael Martin, President of Motorola Solutions Canada Networks Inc., framed the acquisition as protecting the long-term resiliency and security of Canada's land mobile radio communications for the communities that depend on them. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to receipt of regulatory and third-party approvals and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.
