Aird & Berlis LLP has appointed Stefanie Holland as its new chief growth officer, overseeing the firm’s business development, marketing, and communications functions.

Holland makes the jump from Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. She will advise on Aird & Berlis’ growth strategy, concentrating on client experience, business development, and service excellence.

Aird & Berlis managing partner Jill Fraser highlighted Holland’s unique resume, which includes experience as a private practitioner.

“Her career path gives her a distinctive perspective, having worked as both a lawyer and a senior business leader. That experience, combined with her thoughtful approach and strong leadership skills, makes her an excellent addition to our team,” Fraser said in a statement.

Holland spent 16 years with Cassels, where she was a partner, client relationship partner, and lawyer focusing on commercial litigation. She has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and tribunals.

She was recognized by Lexpert in 2024 under the “Litigation: Product Liability” category. She is part of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society, and the Defense Research Institute.

Holland has served as a volunteer counsel with Law Help Ontario. She received her LLB from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2009. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in piano music performance from the University of Toronto.

According to LinkedIn, she articled with Greenspan Partners LLP before moving to Cassels.

Holland wrote in a LinkedIn post that she was eager to work with Aird & Berlis’ lawyers, practice groups, and executive leadership on new growth strategies, business development opportunities, and client relationships.

“I have long admired Aird & Berlis LLP's commitment to exceptional culture and legal counsel. This is a growth story that is just beginning and I am excited to contribute to its longevity and success,” she wrote.

Holland will operate from the firm’s Toronto office.

Aird & Berlis recently bolstered its ranks with the appointments of Lipi Mishra, Dan Fogarty, Joshua Sutherland, and Michael Rosenbloom. Mishra joined the litigation and dispute resolution group; Fogarty and Sutherland strengthened the firm’s Indigenous practice; and Rosenbloom boosted the corporate practice.
