Blakes rounds it up for flood victims

Lawyers at Blake Cassels and Graydon offices around the country dressed with a western flair on Thursday for the firm's "Round Up for Calgary" event to help support colleagues and other Calgary residents hit by the floods. In a note to staff, managing partner Rob Granatstein urged everyone to participate in the fundraising: "Let’s let them know we will be 'stampeding' along with them."

As of last night, a Blakes spokesperson told Legal Feeds more than $20,000 had been raised over one and a half days and "we're still counting." Events in the various offices  included several different raffles, an on-line auction with fabulous prizes, pizza sales, and the sale of "Round-Up for Calgary" buttons.
