Tickets are officially sold out for next week’s Canadian Law Awards gala, the annual event where Canadian Lawyer and Lexpert celebrate the most exceptional individuals, achievements, and organizations across the country’s legal industry.

As is the case each year, the 2026 winners across 26 award categories have been selected from a shortlist, known as the Excellence Awardees, announced earlier this spring. The award categories recognize both singular accomplishments and those achieved over the course of a career.

“The creativity, innovation and commitment demonstrated by the nominees is truly impressive,” said Caroline Zayid, managing partner, Ontario region at McCarthy Tétrault, who served as one of this year’s judges.

“We need a strong legal profession as a foundation for a thriving and just society,” Zayid said. “It gives me great confidence in our profession to see how Canadian lawyers are finding new ways to meet the challenges faced by their clients and organizations, and the country as a whole. “

The event will take place on Tuesday, May 5, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Doors will open at 6 pm for a cocktail reception. The awards ceremony, hosted by award-winning journalist, former national news anchor, and global keynote speaker Farah Nasser, will begin at 7:30 pm.

The dress code is formal. More details about the event can be found at the Canadian Law Awards website.

This year’s event would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors: Silver Awards Sponsors Lawson Lundell LLP and Singleton Reynolds; Social Media Sponsor Norton Rose Fulbright; Official Jewelry Partner Dean Davidson; and Official Ballot Accountants PwC.

Canadian Lawyer and Lexpert would also like to extend a warm thank you to Experience Sponsor Rent the Couture and Accommodation Partner InterContinental Toronto Centre.
