Through the combination, Dunton Rainville enters the Haute-Yamaska market
Law and notarial firm Dunton Rainville has merged with Me David F. Ménard’s practice in the Granby region.
The strategic merger facilitates Dunton Rainville’s entry into the Haute-Yamaska market while driving growth for Ménard, Me Aurélie Tessier, and their team. The firms will operate under the Dunton Rainville banner.
Ménard's practice focuses on real estate, law of persons, and business law. He has worked across Montréal and Granby.
He launched Ménard Notaires in 2013 as a provider of notarial services.
“The addition of the Ménard Notaires team marks an important milestone in our firm's expansion strategy. Me Ménard's outstanding reputation and deep roots in the community provide us with a strong foundation on which to build a leading legal presence in this dynamic and growing market,” said Me Jean-Jacques Rainville, who chairs Dunton Rainville’s executive committee, in a statement.
Last year, Dunton Rainville combined with Eastern Townships notarial firm Monty Sylvestre to expand its presence in Sherbrooke, adding notarial human rights, estate, real estate, and business law solutions to its offerings. In 2024, Dunton Rainville absorbed the team at Hackett Campbell Bouchard, bolstering its expertise in civil and commercial litigation, real estate, and construction law.
Ménard added that the merger represented “the beginning of a new phase of growth in Granby.”
“Joining forces with a firm of Dunton Rainville’s calibre represents an exceptional opportunity for our clients and our team. By becoming part of a highly regarded firm that shares our values and places people and client service at the heart of its approach, we are gaining the resources and capabilities to realize our ambitions,” Ménard said.
This move follows Dunton Rainville’s appointment of a new chief operating officer, Sarah Mitchell, for the firm and its business units in June. She had worked with Stikeman Elliott as its national director of marketing, communications, and digital; she was also Norton Rose Fulbright’s Eastern Canada business development manager and BCF Avocats d’affaires’ chief clients and market strategy officer.
Mitchell also works with Dunton Rainville’s occupational health and safety specialist subsidiary DR Conseils.
