This year’s gala will be hosted by journalist and former national news anchor Farah Nasser
On Thursday, Nov. 12, the legal profession will come together at the annual Lexpert Rising Stars Awards to celebrate the country’s most outstanding lawyers aged 40 and under.
Hosted by award-winning journalist and former national news anchor Farah Nasser, the gala at Toronto’s Liberty Grand will feature an awards ceremony where Canadian Lawyer and Lexpert plan to unveil this year’s cohort of Lexpert Rising Stars.
The event – which saw nearly 500 attendees last year – will kick off with a cocktail reception, followed by a dinner banquet and the awards ceremony.
There’s still time to register for a table on the Lexpert Rising Stars Awards website.
Each winner was carefully evaluated and selected by the Lexpert Rising Stars team, and a panel of judges made up of lawyers and senior in-house counsel at Canada’s top law firms and businesses. Their goal? To recognize Canada’s early career lawyers who have already made outstanding contributions to the legal profession.
The 2026 Lexpert Rising Stars Awards are sponsored by some of the most prominent law firms in Canada, including Gold Sponsor Torkin Manes LLP.
“At Torkin Manes, we are proud to celebrate the next generation of lawyers who are helping shape the future of the profession,” said Sumeet (Sonu) Dhanju-Dhillon, partner of the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution group.
“As a supporter of this year’s Lexpert Rising Stars Awards, we recognize the exceptional talent, dedication and achievements of emerging lawyers whose contributions are making a meaningful impact on the legal profession and the communities they serve.”
Canadian Lawyer and Lexpert are also grateful for the support of Gold Sponsors Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Norton Rose Fulbright, Langlois Avocats, and Ross Nasseri LLP.
The awards would also not be possible without the generous support of our Silver Sponsors, McMillan LLP; our Education Partners, Osgoode Hall Law School and York University; our Associate Sponsor, Bovine Wine Club; and our Experience Sponsor, Orient Retreat.
