Asia Pacific tech partner joins Clifford Chance in Singapore

Clifford Chance has hired technology specialist Stella Cramer as a partner based in Singapore. She will lead the firm’s Asia Pacific tech group.

Cramer brings more than 15 years of working in Asia Pacific and has extensive experience in complex digital and transformational technology projects, platform collaborations and technology transactions, often involving disruptive technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence. She also has deep experience advising clients on global data compliance programmes, the commercialisation of data and high-profile cyber incidents.

Cramer has advised on significant fintech projects and was involved in the set-up of industry sandboxes. She also serves on specialist advisory committees covering the regulation of data, blockchain and artificial intelligence in Singapore and regionally.

Joining from Norton Rose Fulbright, Cramer previously, held in-house roles at global banks Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Bank where she focused on technology, data and digitalisation projects across multiple jurisdictions.

"We are delighted to welcome Stella to lead our multidisciplinary tech group in APAC, which delivers expert and holistic legal advice to both tech and non-tech clients on their most complex tech-related matters,” said Connie Heng, regional managing partner for Asia Pacific. “Technology is having a transformative effect for our clients regardless of industry. Stella's deep knowledge and track record of excellence will take our technology offering in APAC to the next level."

Cramer added: "Clifford Chance has an impressive global network of technology specialists and continues to grow significantly in Asia Pacific, with ambitions very much aligned with my expertise and experience. The firm's global tech group has advised on a long list of market-leading matters in Asia Pacific, and I look forward to building on the team's success."
