Dentons expands its trade and customs capabilities

Dentons has announced the addition of Christian Lau as a partner in the trade, World Trade Organization and customs group in Brussels and Geneva.

Lau brings more than 20 years of experience from his previous role at Sidley Austin where he specialized in international trade matters, assisting government and private-sector clients in navigating and resolving a wide range of issues under international trade law, including the agreements of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other plurilateral or bilateral trade agreements.

“Christian’s arrival adds a senior top-class WTO professional to our team and will strengthen our offering in the area of WTO dispute settlement, advisory and trade negotiations,” said Belgium managing partner, Edward Borovikov. “This comes at a time when the EU has released a communication on a European Economic Security Strategy which identifies strengthening the international rules-based economic order and multilateral institutions, such as the WTO, as a priority.”
