Eversheds Sutherland welcomes team of 11 from KWM

Following the launch of Eversheds Sutherland (International’s) formal co-operation agreement with KWM (China) in July 2023, the firm has welcomed a further team of 11 former KWM (China) partners, lawyers and business services colleagues to the firm’s Frankfurt office.

This follows on from the firm’s announcements of former KWM (China) partners and staff in London, and a partner in Dubai, joining the firm in November 2023.

Alongside the firm’s cooperation agreement with KWM (China) on outbound and inbound client referrals for both firms, Eversheds Sutherland (International) had also announced that, subject to practice needs and other considerations, selected partners and staff of KWM (China), including from its Frankfurt office, would be invited to join the firm.

The firm’s Frankfurt office has welcomed four partners, a further six lawyers, and a business services colleague this month.

The following new partners will all join the company’s commercial practice: Daniel Ehret, Sandra Link, Hui Zhao, and Christian Ostermöller.

“We are pleased to welcome an experienced team from KWM in Frankfurt, the firm’s newest office which we opened in January last year,” said Alexander Niethammer, managing partner Germany, Eversheds Sutherland (International). “We are ambitious for further growth in Europe and our new colleagues will add strength to our corporate and employment practices in Germany and help support our exclusive cooperation agreement with KWM (China).

“In the 12 months since we opened in Frankfurt, we have now grown the team to 43 strong, including eight partners. Our new colleagues will boost our transactional and employment capabilities for clients to strengthen our full-service offering in Germany and provide additional support for those clients with outbound and inbound interests in relation to China.”
