Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the return of Neely Agin to its ranks as the US head of antitrust. She was previously a partner at the firm’s Washington, DC office from 1997 to 2018.

Agin’s expertise lies in navigating the landscape of antitrust and competition law. She specializes in shepherding companies through the merger review and clearance processes and other antitrust investigations conducted by key regulatory bodies such as the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). She helps clients embarking on M&A transactions mitigate antitrust risks.

With a career spanning several industries, Agin has handled antitrust matters across retail, energy, and healthcare sectors. Her portfolio encompasses contracting practices, distribution restrictions, joint ventures, and pricing strategies. Additionally, she has delivered compliance training and steered the development of antitrust compliance programs for clients globally.

Leading the growth of US antitrust practice

Norton Rose Fulbright’s US managing partner, Jeff Cody, said, “Neely is a leader with an impressive track record of advising clients on complex antitrust matters. She made valuable contributions to our firm for two decades.”

Robin Adelstein, global head of antitrust and competition at Norton Rose Fulbright, echoed Cody’s sentiments, emphasizing Agin’s contributions to the firm’s growth. “Neely has significant experience representing clients in merger reviews and other antitrust investigations conducted by the DOJ, FTC and state attorneys general, which will benefit our clients substantially,” said Adelstein. “Clients love working with Neely, and I’m eager to collaborate with her again as we continue to grow our antitrust practice both in the US and globally.”

In her remarks, Agin expressed her enthusiasm about rejoining Norton Rose Fulbright, citing the firm’s evolution into a global powerhouse during her previous tenure. “I look forward to working with our clients, who are busier than ever with increased regulatory enforcement and antitrust scrutiny, with the support of the elite platform that the firm is today,” said Agin.

Neely Agin is licensed to practise law in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She obtained her law degree magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree from Emory University.
