Two nine-figure cases top the Ontario Commercial List roundup this week, with Bennett Jones associate Shaan Tolani representing the plaintiffs in the $233-million case, Shanghai Lianyin Investment Co., Ltd. v Lu et al, while Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP partner Matthew Milne-Smith was in court representing the plaintiffs in Anson Advisors Inc. et al v. Stafford et al with $111 million at stake.

$233 million and $111 million case

Among the commercial cases this week, the most notable case is Shanghai Lianyin Investment Co., Ltd. v. Lu et al with a concerned amount of $233 million. The plaintiffs are represented by Bennett Jones LLP associate Shaan Tolani. Tolani’s practice emphasizes on corporate and commercial disputes, securities litigation, and fraud.
