Miller Thomson LLP has announced the appointment of Perry Kiefer – who has advised on matters involving corporate and personal tax planning, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning – as a Saskatoon-based partner in the firm’s corporate tax group.

Jay Hoffman, chair of the firm’s national business law group, welcomed Kiefer to the corporate tax practice.

“His ability to translate complex tax issues into clear, practical advice strengthens the support we provide to clients,” Hoffman said in a news release.

“Perry is a strong addition to our Saskatoon office,” added Eric Johnson, Miller Thomson’s Saskatchewan managing partner.

With a focus on owner-managed and agricultural enterprises, Kiefer helps clients structure their affairs to attain their long-term planning goals while maintaining tax efficiency. His practice has encompassed the agribusiness and food production industries.

“He is well regarded for his technical depth and practical approach,” Johnson said. “His experience complements our team and strengthens our agri-business offering in the region.”

As a lecturer and presenter, Kiefer has sought to simplify complex tax and financial concepts to improve clients’ understanding of their options and their decision-making. He has qualified as a certified public accountant, as a chartered accountant, and as a trust and estate practitioner
