Sarah Teich

Sarah Teich is the co-founder and president of Human Rights Action Group, a legal CSO and charity that provides pro-bono legal services to victims of mass atrocities and gross human rights violations, helping them utilize domestic, foreign, and international mechanisms to pursue justice and accountability. 

Sarah holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and licenses to practice law in Ontario and New York. She has represented her clients at all levels of court and has testified at numerous Houses of Parliaments, including the Canadian House of Commons and Senate, the United Kingdom House of Lords, and the Australian Senate. Sarah has received multiple recognitions and awards, including a commendation in 2016 from the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and the 2022 Hon. David Kilgour Global Humanitarian Leader of the Year Award. She was blacklisted by Russia in September 2022 and by China in December 2024. Sarah is a senior fellow at the Macdonald Laurier Institute, where she focuses on foreign policy and international law. She was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in 2024 by Canadian Lawyer.
