Sander Lekas

Sander Lekas is General Counsel at SkyFire Energy Inc. and its recently acquired sister company, Hakai Energy Solutions Inc.

SkyFire is Western Canada’s leading solar engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance provider with over 25 years’ experience, vertically integrated in the residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale markets. SkyFire is an employee-owned Certified B Corporation. Hakai boasts over 15 years’ experience and is recognized for its expertise delivering innovative off-grid and microgrid solar and storage solutions in some of Canada’s most challenging environments.

As General Counsel, Sander is responsible for risk management and oversight of all legal issues impacting business operations. As the sole lawyer in a medium-sized organization, Sander’s role is dynamic and he has extensive experience in all aspects of legal strategy, operations, negotiations, contracting, compliance, disputes, employment matters, and oversight of risk products and IP assets. Sander is a member of SkyFire’s business leadership team and a trusted advisor to the board of directors.

Sander obtained his J.D. at Thompson Rivers University in 2018 before clerking at the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta (as it was) and carrying on a diverse commercial law practice at Reynolds Mirth Richards & Farmer LLP. Sander is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
