The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium has announced the launch date of the 2022 Legal Innovation in Operations Project. Through a formal entry and voting process, the project – which first launched in 2020 – recognizes legal and business teams that have achieved innovation and design excellence in legal operations. The project was created to distinguish law firms exhibiting exceptional innovation and design excellence in legal operations.

Three recipients will be announced during the CLOC Global Institute, slated for May 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2020 LIO Project received seventeen submissions that were narrowed down to three innovative projects. In view of its success, the project is expanding to welcome submissions from the entire legal ecosystem, including legal service providers, law firms, academic providers, and in-house teams.

“There is a wealth of talent in this community and with every challenge presented, we’re seeing the bar raised on what is possible. These innovative ideas and solutions truly impact our ability to serve clients in new and meaningful ways,” says Mike Haven, president of CLOC’s Board. “We created the LIO Project to recognize outstanding work and showcase the value of investments made in legal operations. It also offers another valuable learning channel to help professionals and organizations across the legal community advance their own projects and solutions.”

The 2022 LIO Project submissions will open on February 1, 2022. All submissions will be reviewed and selected by a cross-section of industry leaders.

CLOC’s mission is to enhance legal operations competence, improve in-house legal management and promote industry change.
