Andlauer Healthcare Group (AHG) has acquired two transportation logistics providers — Skelton USA and Boyle Transportation — for a combined purchase price of approximately $149.5 million.

AHG is an Ontario-based supply chain management company offering customized third-party logistics and specialized transportation solutions for the healthcare sector. In February, AHG acquired 49 per cent of Skelton for $114.7 million. Under the recent deal, announced Monday, AHG paid $50 million to acquire the remaining 51 per cent. AHG also paid $99.5 million in shares and cash to takeover Massachusetts-based logistics company, Boyle Transportation.

Goodmans LLP acted as legal counsel to AHG, with a team comprised of Brad Ross, Sarah Macchione, Sheena Singh, Daniel Seidman and David Nadler. Owens Wright LLP acted for Skelton USA, with John Wright, Megan Mossip and Nadia Narain involved in the deal.

Skelton USA is an Ontario-based transportation provider with a fleet size of 75 trucks and 100 trailers. The company specializes in the transportation of temperature-controlled plasma products, vaccines and medicines. Boyle Transportation provides transportation services to clients in the life sciences and government or defense sectors.

The acquisition of Boyle Transportation and Skelton USA adds to AHG’s comprehensive platform of dedicated healthcare supply chain solutions and advances the company’s strategic expansion into the U.S. healthcare market according to Michael Andlauer, chief executive officer of AHG.

“Boyle is a leader in the temperature-sensitive life sciences sector and brings complementary security and visibility capabilities to the defense sector. Our acquisition of the remainder of Skelton USA coupled with Boyle Transportation significantly advances our strategic expansion into the U.S. healthcare market. Each of Boyle and Skelton USA have a strong commitment to customer focused care and a people-first approach, which are core values of the Andlauer Healthcare Group,” said Andlauer.

Boyle Transportation’s co-presidents, Andrew Boyle and Marc Boyle, also said “As part of the highly regarded AHG platform, we are confident that this strategic move will help Boyle Transportation and AHG deliver a broader suite of services to our valuable clients and apply our expertise on a greater scale."
