LEAP, Dye & Durham sponsor categories at 2025 Canadian Law Awards

On May 7, the Canadian Law Awards will honour exceptional law firms, in-house departments, deals, cases, initiatives, and individuals across 23 categories.

One of those awards is the Lifetime Achievement in the Legal Profession - Private Practice and In House. The award celebrates a leader with at least 30 years of experience who has significantly contributed to advancing Canada’s legal profession or justice system.

Legal software company Dye & Durham sponsors the award.

“The Canadian Law Awards are an important opportunity for Dye & Durham to celebrate the hard work, dedication, innovation and achievement of our customers and the Canadian legal profession as a whole,” says Dye & Durham chief revenue officer Sanjay Kulkarni.

“We’re proud to be a supporter of such an important event, and to be able to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the invaluable life-long contributions that this year’s Dye & Durham Lifetime Achievement Awards recipients have brought to the Canadian legal industry,” Kulkarni adds.

LEAP Legal Software will sponsor two awards this year. The first is Best Use of Technology in a Law Firm, which honours innovative approaches to technology.

The second, Family Law Firm of the Year, celebrates the best in family law.

“LEAP's software technology and commitment to legal practice innovation has been at the forefront of industry change for more than 30 years. Our combined partnership with DivorceMate Software set the tone for us to establish a new award category that recognizes legal excellence for family law firms,”says Malcolm Muthulingum, CEO of LEAP.

“Family law is but one of the many practice fields that LEAP Legal Software has been designed to serve,” Muthulingum adds. "The Canadian Lawyer platform reaches law firms across all practice areas, so it was a special opportunity for LEAP to partner/sponsor the Canadian Law Awards over the past three years. It has been a real pleasure for us to connect with Key Media’s audience and experience the best-in-class hospitality from this team.”

Nominations for the Canadian Law Awards closed on January 31. The editorial team will draw on industry expertise to shortlist Excellence Awardees in all 23 categories and announce a shortlist in March.

A shortlist of notable deals will be announced in April.

An independent panel of judges will then review, score, and select winners among the Excellence Awardees.

The Canadian Law Awards will occur on May 7, 2025, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
