Four law firms made new announcements
Welcome to this week’s roundup of movements among major law firms, in which we sum up significant hires, promotions, departures, and other announcements.
Bennett Jones
The firm has announced the appointment of three new office managing partners. The firm has welcomed Preet Gill as Toronto managing partner, Kwang Lim as Vancouver managing partner, and Pascale Dionne-Bourassa as montréal managing partner. They will oversee internal office matters and help align Bennett Jones' client service across all offices. They will work closely with firm CEO Dominique Hussey.
“Preet, Kwang, and Pascale bring a fresh energy to their new roles that will enrich our firm's legacy and inspire a new generation of legal professionals committed to excellence and innovation," said Hussey.
Dentons
Dentons has welcomed the addition of Sylvain Bélair as a partner in the Montréal office. She brings over 35 years of experience representing clients in high-profile complex matters, involving urban planning, expropriation and municipal taxation issues.
“Joining the team at Dentons marks an exciting new chapter for me,” said Sylvain Bélair. “I’m joining an exceptional litigation and real estate team, and I look forward to leveraging the Dentons platform and my colleagues’ expertise to continue defending the best interest of my clients in Québec and across Canada.”
Sotos Class Actions
Matthew W. Taylor has joined Sotos Class Actions as an associate. Taylor’s practice encompasses institutional abuse, investor protection, pharmaceutical and medical device product liability, and professional liability litigation. Before joining Sotos, Taylor worked at a leading plaintiffs’ class action firm where his practice was devoted entirely to complex class action and multi-plaintiff litigation.

Stikeman Elliott has welcomed Miguel Manzano as a partner in the firm’s real estate group in Montréal. Manzano’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, commercial contracts, project finance, mining, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
