International Chamber of Commerce unveils new version of dispute resolution platform

The International Chamber of Commerce has unveiled a new version of the ICC Case Connect digital platform powered by Opus 2.

The introduction of the platform’s new version reflects the ICC’s commitment to boosting arbitration efficiency using technology.

According to Ana Serra e Moura, Deputy Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the new ICC Case Connect platform facilitates document sharing, case management, and the collation of ICC Court decisions on one platform.

“It has been redesigned for the way business works today, helping dispute resolution become more efficient,” she said in a statement.

The platform’s features include an e-filing portal for electronic submissions and arbitration request processing. It also integrates a filing fee e-payment system.

Case files are centralized as well for real-time access, quick retrieval, and the secure distribution of  case information, documents, submissions and awards between parties, representatives, arbitrators, and ICC. Party- and arbitrator-specific portals have also been introduced.

The platform incorporates financial processes and built-in arbitrator expense management. Moreover, it improves the efficiency and smoothness of ICC operations, task management and decision-making workflows.

Accounts can be personalize to foster collaboration and allow authorized administrative staff to tackle case administration tasks securely. Prospective arbitrators can self-register and provide relevant information, enhancing their ICC visibility.

The new ICC Case Connect platform was rolled out to all users this month. Amicable dispute resolution cases are expected to be integrated into the platform down the line.

The original ICC Case Connect platform was introduced in 2022 to facilitate collaboration among parties, arbitral tribunals, the ICC Secretariat and Court. Presently, the platform caters to more than 10,000 party representatives and over 8,000 arbitrators.

Established in 1923, the International Court of Arbitration assists in resolving international commercial and investment disputes. It administers arbitration through the judicial supervision of arbitration proceedings.
