Robert Carelli is a member of the securities group and head of the corporate group of Stikeman Elliott’s Montreal office. Lexpert has recognized Carelli as a leading lawyer in the areas of corporate/commercial law, corporate mid-market law, corporate finance and securities, private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He participated in the initial public offering of Lightspeed POS Inc., a Montreal-based point-of-sale and ecommerce service. With $276 million raised, this was the largest IPO by a Canadian technology company in nearly nine years, one of the 10 biggest technology IPOs in the history of the Toronto Stock Exchange and one of Lexpert’s top 10 deals of 2019. He also acted on behalf of Clementia Pharmaceuticals Inc. when it was subject to a friendly acquisition by Ipsen S.A., with the deal amounting to a total transaction value of US$1.3 billion. He is chairman of the corporate finance advisory committee of the Autorité des marchés financiers.
