Celebrating in-house innovation

Last night, Canadian Lawyer InHouse held the inaugural Innovatio Awards.

The awards embrace the spirit of innovation honouring the 11 in-house departments in nine categories that have changed and improved the way they practise in a pressure-laden and complex environment. From working with outside counsel to dealmaking, to the many aspects of running a department and providing services to their organizations; to celebrating diversity and tomorrow’s leaders, their accomplishments were amazing and inspiring.

These awards were judged by a panel of distinguised in-house counsel and the nominations, for the most part, also came from in-house counsel, making it an award show by and for in-house counsel.

Keynote speaker Cary Burch, Thomson Reuters SVP of Innovation, shared his thoughts on keeping innovation at the fore in every work environment by focussing on the customer.

Read more about the winner’s projects and programs in this month’s Canadian Lawyer InHouse magazine.

Hopefully you’ll be inspired to nominate your team or a great team that you’ve worked with for next year’s awards. Nominations forms will be available here on Monday, Sept. 8.
