Upcoming webinar examines role of medical experts in estates practice

Estate litigation experts Ian M. Hull and Kimberly A. Whaley are once again joining forces in an exclusive webinar to tackle a timely trend in the sphere: The Role of Medical Experts in an Estates Practice.

From a high-level look at societal context and demographics, to a review of decisional capacity and an in-depth discussion on how to best leverage expert testimony at trial and how to identify individuals vulnerable to undue influence or lacking testamentary capacity, these estates powerhouses are set to deliver a highly informative session.

Hull and Whaley will also be joined by Suzana Popovic-Montag, managing partner of Hull & Hull LLP, who will share best practices, and Dr. Ken Shulman of the Sunnybrook Research Institute, who will delve into the psychiatric conditions that can affect capacity and undue influence. The hosts will also take a careful look at the traditional Banks v. Goodfellow test for testamentary capacity, which Shulman — together with medical and legal colleagues — recently published an update to in the Canadian Bar Review.

By the end of the seminar, attendees should have a grasp of the general legal issues related to capacity and undue influence; evaluate the admissibility of expert evidence; articulate the general principles of capacity assessment; identify the signs and symptoms of an individual vulnerable to undue influence or lacking testamentary capacity; and understand how expert opinions are implemented in litigation context.

Don’t miss out on this free webinar’s valuable insights. Happening October 10 at 1 pm EST, please register today.
