Lawyer Randy Maslow appointed interim CEO of iAnthus Capital Holdings

Lawyer Randy Maslow has been appointed the interim chief executive officer of iAnthus Capital Holdings, Inc., effective immediately.

Prior to co-founding iAnthus and serving as president and director, Maslow was a tech industry entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience as general counsel at multiple growing telecom and internet companies. A graduate of Rutgers University School of Law, he also previously worked with the firms of Greenberg Traurig LLP, White and Williams and Blank Rome LLP.

iAnthus is a holding company that owns, operates and partners with regulated cannabis operations in the U.S., and which prides itself as the first U.S.-based multi-state operator to go public and raise money in Canada, as well as the first to have a short form prospectus approved by the Canadian Securities Administrators.

Dubbed by the company as “a nationally recognized expert in federal and state cannabis law and regulatory policy,” Maslow has held leadership roles in the Cannabis Trade Federation, the New Jersey Cannabis Industry Association and the New York Medical Cannabis Industry Association.

Maslow received the appointment from the board of directors following the resignation of Hadley Ford, former CEO and director of the company, as well as officer and director of subsidiaries of the company.

The board had accepted a report conducted by a special committee of independent directors, which had found that Ford had entered into two undisclosed loans, one with a related party and one with a non-arm’s length party, which constituted a potential or apparent conflict, and had found that this failure to disclose such loans in a timely manner had infringed the company’s policies and his obligations to the company.
