CLOC shares agenda for virtual global institute set for November

The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium Global Institute will proceed virtually on Nov. 10.

CLOC acknowledged that the event may be difficult to adapt to an online experience, but focused on delivering valuable and educational content and networking opportunities to the participating legal professionals regardless of their time zones or locations, wrote LaTrece Johnson, CLOC’s head of content strategy and operations, in a blog post.

CLOC asked its members and law firm participants, via the “Personalize Your Virtual Experience” survey, for input regarding what difficulties they are currently experiencing, what they hope to learn or experience during the online event and how they prefer to engage with the other participants. CLOC then considered these responses when planning the agenda, subject matter and speakers for the event.

CLOC invites those who are interested to register. With an all-access pass, registrants may participate in numerous opportunities, such as an exhibit hall, where they can access booths offering products and services aiming to increase efficiency, ask the technology providers and service providers questions via live chat, watch demo videos and download certain files.

CLOC will host a panel discussion during which general counsels from large enterprise organizations will share their thoughts on the present state and the future of the legal industry, as well as the trends relevant to it. There will also be an opportunity to form smaller groups and to participate in interactive roundtable discussions aiming to provide insight on how to improve efficiencies and departments.

There will be a “Meet the Change Makers” session involving speakers who are senior executives from companies like EY, VMWare and Netflix. There are also 14 breakout sessions, where participants can choose one of two sessions offered every hour, which can be watched live or on-demand. Topics include how to be a purposeful and resilient leader, how to navigate a new legal operations role, how to maximize impact despite limited resources, how to successfully implement technological solutions and how to manage legal operations projects. Some of these topics will explore case studies of specific legal operations teams.

Engagement activities include opportunities to sign up for the networking event and to interact live with other participants via the chat lounge.
